 
Portuguese Language School in Lisbon
Portuguese is spoken by over 200 million people. The best way to learn Portuguese is to take a Portuguese course in the country in which the language is spoken. And where better than Lisbon, the capital of Portugal? Our Portuguese language school in Lisbon is ideally located in the centre of Lisbon, close to the Saldanha Square. Our Portuguese school has 12 well-equipped classrooms, a student common room and Internet café with free Internet access.
At the Portuguese school, you can learn Portuguese on a ‘Semi-Intensive’ Portuguese course (15 lessons per week), or on a ‘Super Intensive’ Portuguese course (30 lessons per week). Or, you can choose a ‘Combined’ Portuguese course, which is a combination of the ‘Intensive’ course plus 5 or 10 private Portuguese lessons/week.
All Portuguese courses are taught in small groups with a maximum class size of 12 students (except at Easter and in August).
As well as general Portuguese language courses, our school in Lisbon also offers a Portuguese Gastronomy course and a ‘Portuguese for Teachers’ course.
Accommodation in Lisbon
For students wanting to completely immerse themselves in the Portuguese language and culture we recommend that you stay with one of our carefully selected hosts. In Portugal accommodation is provided on a bed and breakfast basis with students taking their lunch and dinner in local restaurants. We can also arrange hotel accommodation on request.
Social and Cultural Activities
To supplement your learning, the Portuguese school organises a range of social and cultural activities, some of which are offered free of charge. These include Portuguese film evenings in the school, as well as evening dinners at local restaurants, accompanied by teachers. This program of activities ensures that students enjoy their time in Lisbon and also helps students develop their Portuguese language skills outside of the classroom.
Portuguese and Surf
Our Portuguese school works in partnership with Benficasurf to offer a new programme combining the Semi Intensive Portuguese course (15 lessons per week) with Surf lessons in the afternoon, in beaches around Lisbon.
On the days without surf lessons, students are welcome to join in the social activities offered by the language school.
Benficasurf is the section for Surf and Bodyboard of the prestigious club Sport Lisboa e Benfica. The teachers are experienced professionals, accredited by the Portuguese Surfing Federation. All transportation and equipment is included in the price. Surf lessons depend on the weather and sea conditions, so lessons are scheduled locally.
The programme is available for 2 weeks from the beginning of april until the end of September.
